Ride+Stride 2024

Thank you so much to all those who took park in Ride+Stride on Saturday 14th September and to all who opened their churches and put out signing-in forms and refreshments to welcome visitors! It was a beautiful day for riding and striding and we hope you enjoyed the day and managed to complete your routes. The BHCT is hugely grateful and we will update this page with the results of all your endeavours as soon as possible.

If it’s not too soon to update your diaries, the date for 2025 is Saturday 13th September and further information will be available on these pages plus updated forms for participants and posters and flyers for churches nearer the time. Ride+Stride is the major annual fundraiser for the Trust and all support continues to be much valued this year as churches face difficult financial circumstances.

Ride+Stride is a nationwide church-crawl where you can visit as many (or as few) churches as you like on the second Saturday in September between 10am and 6pm. You can walk, run, cycle, ride or drive, following your own route and enjoy visiting some of our county’s fabulous churches. And remember, half of all the money you raise will go straight back to the church or chapel of your choice. The other half goes to the BHCT to help support other churches in need. Click on the drop-down menu above to see some suggested routes. 

Any Christian church can apply to the Trust for financial help to maintain or improve the church building. Each year the Trust awards thousands of pounds worth of grants. Ride+Stride is just one way in which the Trust raises money to help them. The money you raise helps to save historic churches, chapels and meeting houses for future generations by helping to fund urgent repairs and the installation of modern facilities.
